James M. Day is a self-taught pianist, believing that life's experience is the best teacher an artist can have. His creative influences are Joe Sample, Jeff Lorber, Bryan Culbertson, Chick Corea, Art Tatum, Bruce Hornsby, Pat Metheny, Taylor Eigsti, Julian Lage, Bela Fleck, Dave Matthews, Stevie Wonder, Thelonious Monk, Oscar Peterson, Matthew Bellamy, many many more. In the next year James plans to focus more on writing and performing his own musical arrangements and also release a album of his original compositions by the end of 2009, bringing together the skills and emotions that have shaped his musical life to this point. James Michael Day is a true musician, Starting his musical journey at the tender age of four learning 'Beatles' songs on the mandolin. He began playing piano at age six and quickly mastered the instrument; performing piano and vocals since the age of eight. James Always played songs with his own feelings and arrangements. Now at age 27 James has more passion for his music then ever!
Grant Ewald was born in San Francisco. He started studying music at an early age and currently plays piano, organ and bass. Grant has been a bandleader for Chuck Berry and for his own Bay Area based band for several years and has also worked on cruise ships around the world which makes an International clientele feel right at home. He sings all styles and plays sing along piano every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night at the World Famous Lefty O'Douls, downtown San Francisco. You can also see Grant featured with the band at the brand new Gold Dust at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco.
Besides a stint as a travel agent, Grant has never had a real job! Grant's easy going nature and fun loving attitude makes for an exciting night of music and laughs where the audience is always welcome to become part of the show.
Rockin' Regi is celebrating his fourty seventh year in show business!
Regi's early days were rock and roll bands in Denver (1965-1969) and the SF peninsula (1969-1976) In 1976 he led his own band REGI'S ROCKERS to Europe for a four year stay including performances in Munich, London, Monte Carlo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and other towns too numerous to mention, including an appearance at the 1977 Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. After Europe, Regi returned to the states with extended stays in Hawaii and New Orleans.
He currently plays in several bands, Besides leading his own combo, he also plays in the great oldies band DADDY-O, a surf band called CALIFORNIA BEACH PARTY, a variety band called SHARK SANDWICH, a boogie woogie piano duo called THE WOOGIEMEN, and JOHNNY Z AND THE CAMAROS at the famous Golddust Lounge in San Francisco, to name a few. Regi fills his daytimes with perfomances at many of the bay areas assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. "I love playing these places because i get to play all the old songs i have learned throughout my career and i continue to learn more old songs. I also love the feedback and smiles i get from my audiences. it's very rewarding."
If you catch Regi in a rare solo performance and you're likely to hear his early influences like Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, or Little Richard, the Beatles, Leon Russell or you might hear the blues of Willie Dixon or Muddy Waters, the boogie woogie of Pete Johnson and Meade Lux Lewis, maybe the ragtime and swing of Fats Waller and Benny Goodman or the jump of Louis Jordan, sometimes even Willie Nelson or Hank Williams, how about a Nat King Cole ballad, definitely some New Orleans and lots more.
